Patton To Speak at MMC Luncheon
The Martin Methodist College Athletic Department is inviting the Giles County community to attend March’s RedHawk Athletic Luncheon on Wednesday, March 6, at the Hickory House Restaurant.
The monthly event, which began nearly three years ago, is held the first Wednesday of every month at noon. The cost of the buffet will be $5 (excluding drink) and the RedHawks will pick up the balance of your buffet tab.
March’s guest speaker is Maurice Patton, Sports Editor of The Daily Herald in Columbia, Tennessee. Patton was named Sports Editor in October 2016 after previously operating a web-based publication, MoPattonSports.com, which focused on Middle Tennessee high school athletics.
Patton has worked in print and electronic sports journalism in the Midstate for more than 30 years, including The Tennessean, covering professional and collegiate sports as well as high schools.
Patton is a native of Franklin, Tennessee and attended Lambuth University before ultimately graduating Middle Tennessee State University.
In addition to the special guest each month, Wednesday’s meeting will also feature a brief recap and preview of RedHawk Athletic and Martin Methodist College events. A prize giveaway will also be conducted near the end of each meeting.
Come join the RedHawks in the RedHawk Room at the Hickory House Restaurant for a social, fast-paced “power luncheon” with limited seating. The luncheon will conclude by 12:50 p.m.
