Lady Raiders Score Season-High at Santa Fe

The Richland High School softball team scored a new season-best offensively in Monday’s 15-8 district win at Santa Fe.


The Lady Raiders (6-10, 3-2) earned the sweep of Santa Fe for the season series after also defeating the Lady Wildcats 9-0 March 23. RHS led 7-0 in the middle of the fourth and batted around in the sixth to score six more runs in the victory.


Freshman Anna Hart struck out seven batters in five innings as the team’s starting pitcher and allowed just four base hits in picking up the victory. Fellow freshman Madison Foster came in to pitch the final two innings in relief.


At the plate, all nine RHS starters scored at least one run with Hart scoring a team-high three runs in a 3-for-5 performance with a double. Lillie Greene also went 3-for-5 with a run. Caylee Parker finished 2-for-5 with a double and a run. Olivia Newton went 2-for-2 and scored a run, while also reaching on a hit by pitch.


The Lady Raiders are scheduled to travel to district leader Columbia Academy today (Tuesday) before hosting Zion Christian Academy Thursday.
