Willie Lewis Smith
Mr. Smith was the son of Arsten and Katherine Smith. He was a devoted member of Willow Grove MB Church, where he served on the deacon board, youth Sunday teacher and coordinator of the members care. He retired from the U.S. Army/National Guard with 26 years of service. He was also retired from the Timken Company. He was a graduate of Prospect High School and Alverson Draughon Business College of Huntsville with a degree in Business Administration. He is preceded in death by father Arsten Smith.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-noon Friday, Aug. 3, at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at noon. Burial with full military honors will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Survivors include wife of 46 years Norma Smith of Prospect; mother Katherine Smith; sons, Adrian Lewis Smith of Pulaski, Eric Brian Smith and wife Melody of Prospect; grandchildren, Jaylen Alexander Smith, Dakota Brian Smith, Haiden Lewis Smith, Kaitlyn Demastus, Katasia Demastus; brothers, Winford Smith and wife Ruby, Kenneth Smith, all of Prospect, Joe Smith and wife Cathy, Terry Smith and wife Shelia, all of Pulaski, James Smith, Richard Smith and wife Lynn, all of Athens, Ala.; sisters, Marjorie Bass and husband Larry of Prospect, Linda Wright and husband Johnny of Franklin, Sharon Braden and husband Sam of Nashville; god-daughter Jacqueline Marie Smith of Prospect; sisters-in-law, Mary Coleman, Brenda Swinger and husband Edward, all of Pulaski; brothers-in-law, Thomas Appleton of Pulaski, William Albert Figg of Louisville, Ky.; special friend Kenneth (Hot Rod) Robinson of Athens, Ala.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
