Mary Lou Crenshaw
Mrs. Mary Lou Crenshaw, 87, died Sept. 25, 2019.
Mrs. Crenshaw was born Nov. 29, 1931, in Lynnville, one of 15 children. She professed an early hope in Jesus Christ at Round Hill MBC and worked on the family farm with her siblings. She graduated from Bridgeforth High School in 1951, married Charles Crenshaw May 16, 1954, and traveled the world with her Navy Sailor husband. They were well known for their dance moves and two-steps. In 1972, she returned to college at Motlow Sate Jr. College, graduating with a minor in social services. This helped her assist many in getting their Social Security Retirement Benefits. After that, she drove a special education bus until 1987 for the Giles County Board of Education. She had a knack for cooking homemade food and desserts from scratch. She is preceded in death by husband Charles Crenshaw; parents, Owen Cox Sr. and Willie Bugg Cox; sisters, Nettie Corrine Cox, Missouri Cox, Laura Cox Smith, Alene Cox McElroy, Dora Cox Dean, Annie Lucille Cox Dean; and brothers, Shirley Mac Cox, William Cox, Owen Cox Jr., Audie James Cox, Joe Louis Cox and Matthew Cox.

Survivors include sons, George Crenshaw of Carmel, Ind., Carlos Crenshaw of Lynnville; sister Bessie Gandy of Buffalo, N.Y.; brother Douglas Cox and wife Shirley of Lynnville; caring brother-in-law Paul Dean of Indianapolis, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nephew Michael (Big Hawk) McElroy; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
