Lois Story Hyatt
Ms. Hyatt was born June 12, 1929, in Lynnville. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a longtime member of St. Andrew UMC. She retired from South Central Bell with 25 years of service. She loved to sew, cook, play Rook and was an avid Alabama football and basketball fan. She loved spending time with her family and snuggling with her beloved dog, Maxie. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Jack Holly Hyatt; parents, Shirley Campbell and Martha Parker Story; brothers, Raymond Story, Cordell Story, Dolly Story; sisters Virginia Cullens, Mary Jones, Lorene Elkins; and son-in-law Steve Blakely.
Visitation is from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 14 at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home. Funeral services are to follow with the Rev. Moses Han and the Rev. Brandon Bass officiating. Burial will be in Giles Memory Gardens.
Survivors include daughters, Beverly Blakely of Athens, Ala., Gwen Holder of Nashville; grandchildren, Steven Blakely and wife Hilary of Decatur, Ala., Stephanie Calabrace and husband Justin of Franklin, Morgan Holder of Ashville, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Vivian Blakely of Decatur, Ala., Caroline Calabrace, Abigail Calabrace, Joseph Calabrace, all of Franklin; and several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
