John William Pitts
Mr. John William (J.W.) Pitts, 84, of Pulaski died Nov. 4, 2019, at his home.
Mr. Pitts was born Dec. 13, 1934, in Limestone County, Ala., and was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He was of the Church of Christ Faith, worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator and loved to go fishing. He is preceded in death by parents, Gilbert Coleman and Velier Craig Pitts; and brothers, Herbert Pitts, Evans Pitts, Eldridge Yearta and David Yearta.
Visitation is today (Tuesday) from 4-7 p.m. at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday) in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory with Mark Johnson and Terrell Pitts officiating. Burial will follow in Giles Memory Gardens.
Survivors include sons, Johnny R. Pitts of Shelbyville, Billy Pitts of Pulaski; daughters, Deborah Pitts of Whitehouse, Linda Vaughn, Julie Pitts, both of Pulaski; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Eva Griffin and husband Robert, Dot Hill and husband Don of Athens; and several nephews and nieces.
