Jimmy Dee Potts

Mr. Jimmy Dee Potts, 79, of Giles County died April 14, 2019, at his home.

Mr. Potts was born Aug. 5, 1939, in Williamson County. He served in the Amy National Guard. He and his brother operated a drive-in market in Nashville for a number of years. He retired from the Pony Express where he operated as a courier. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by parents, Ellis and Mildred Luckett Potts; brother Donald Potts; sister Dorothy Daugherty; and son Tommie C. (Timmy) Johns Jr.

 

Visitation will be from noon-1:30 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday) at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.

 

Graveside services with full military honors will begin at 2 p.m. at the Chapman Cemetery on Little Dry Creek Road.

 

Survivors include wife Barbara Ranck Potts of Ethridge; daughter Deidra Hickman of Lynnville; son Chris Johns of Pulaski; brothers, Calvin Potts, Ronald Potts, both of Nashville, Zelbert Potts of Columbia; granddaughters, Carlie Maxwell of Silver Springs, Brianna Hamlet of Livingston; great-grandchildren, Adrianna Maxwell, Kiari Maxwell, Carter Hamlet, Letty Hamlet, Landon Hamlet; and beloved companion Bella.
