Janet Lynn Cox Tucker

Mrs. Janet Lynn Cox Tucker, 58, died May 4, 2019.


Mrs. Tucker was born Oct. 7, 1960, in Pulaski. She accepted Christ into her life at an early age and joined St. Paul Agnew A.M.E. Church where she was a dedicated member and held multiple leadership roles. She graduated from Giles County High School, attended Middle Tennessee State University and received her degree in social work from Martin Methodist College. She began her career as an administrator at Meadowbrook Nursing Home. She also worked with the Pulaski Citizen, Head Start (as an SCHRA social worker) and DirecTV. She was a business owner, continuing her father’s legacy with Cox Garbage Service for more than 30 years. She took pride in being a committed wife and loving mother, had a heart of gold, would give her last to anyone and had a knack for making others feel special. She was heavily involved in many organizations throughout Giles County. She was an exceptional cook, took pleasure in hosting and always welcomed others into her home. She is preceded in death by father Edward (Jimmy) Cox Jr.


Funeral services were May 10 at Greater Richland Creek Association.


Jordan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


Survivors include mother Louise Coleman Cox of Pulaski; husband Ellis Ray Tucker of Pulaski; son Jerrold Ray Tucker and wife Kei of Harvest, Ala.; daughter Jessica Renae Tucker of Memphis; grandson Karter Denzel Tucker; nephew Demetrius Lancaster; great-nephew Demetrius (DJ) Lancaster Jr.; and a host of relatives and friends.
