James L. Westmoreland

Mr. James L. (Woody) Westmoreland of Pulaski died July 21, 2018, at Alive Hospice, Nashville.

 

Mr. Westmoreland was born Nov. 13, 1944, in Prospect. He was a 1965 Bridgeforth High School graduate and was well-known for his athletic abilities in track. He worked at Wayne Supply Company and Yellow Cab for many years in Louisville, Ky. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He was a great cook; his specialties were barbecue ribs and potato salad. He is preceded in death by parents, Robert (Mack) and Emma Gene Westmoreland; and brothers, Eddie Westmoreland and Henry Westmoreland.

 

Survivors include wife Rossie Reynolds Westmoreland of Pulaski; children, Theressa Stone and husband Marion, Cassandra Horton and husband Sam, all of Louisville, Ky., James Westmoreland Jr. and wife Sheila of Radcliffe, Ky., Veronica Wright and husband Michael of Elizabethtown, Ky., Cynthia Potter and husband Cory of Athens, Ala.; brothers, Thomas Westmoreland and wife Jean, Elwood Westmoreland and wife Louise, all of Louisville, Ky.; sister Mamie Wilson of Prospect; sisters-in-law, Isabelle Westmoreland of Fayetteville, N.C., Sandra Allen of Huntsville, Ala.; brothers-in-law, Buford Reynolds and wife Jean, Eddie Reynolds, all of Pulaski; aunts, Magalean Bryant of Wooster, Ohio, Mattie Dehart of Orrville, Ohio, Mildred Westmoreland of Louisville, Ky.; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; cousin Kirby McDonald; friends, Robert Allen Jackson, David Johnson; and numerous other relatives and friends.
