Jack Neal Norwood
Mr. Norwood was born Feb. 23, 1939, in Minor Hill and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, (Tennessee Air National Guard), former alderman of Minor Hill, retired as the administrator of the Alternative School in Pulaski, and a longtime teacher and principal. He enjoyed farming, the outdoors, loved fishing, history and animals (especially horses). He had an unwavering and devoted love for the Lord and his family. He is preceded in death by parents, Robert Thurman and Elizabeth Lou McKinney Norwood; and brother Bob Norwood.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 16, from 4-7 p.m. at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 17, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be in Minor Hill Cemetery with full military honors. Memorial donations may be made to Minor Hill School, 13099 Minor Hill Highway, Minor Hill, TN 38473; or Minor Hill Library, 13190 Minor Hill Highway, Minor Hill, TN 38473.
Survivors include wife Tammie Dollins Norwood of Minor Hill; sons, Nick Norwood and wife Kate of Cleveland, Nevin Norwood and wife Kari of Nolensville; daughter Nissa Norwood of Rockaway Beach, Mo.; step-daughter Tia Honea of Delrose; sister Judy Stewart and husband Jim of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren; and several nephews, nieces and friends.
