Cordie L. Marks
Mrs. Cordie L. Marks, 86, died Dec. 15, 2018, at NHC Healthcare, Pulaski.
Mrs. Marks was born May 11, 1932, in Giles County. One of six children born to the lates Grady and Sarah Payne Holt, she accepted Christ at an early age and was a life-long member of Powell Chapel Church where she served as a Stewardess. She attended school in Giles County and worked in the Giles County School System for more than 50 years as a Food Service Tech. She fed thousands of children and the children loved her and her food. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great- and great-great grandmother and aunt. She loved cooking and gardening, but loved her family most of all. She was married to the late Lawrence E. Marks and to this union, seven children were born. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by children, Deloris Marks, Glenda Marks; brothers, Alvin Holt, Eugene Holt; sisters; Catherine Holt, Willa Mae Holt; granddaughter Angela Holt; and great-granddaughter Keitashia Ballentine.
Survivors include daughters, Ann Beard and husband John, Sandra Marks of Nashville, Clara Grimes and husband Jackson, Vanessa Marks of Fairburn, Ga., Janice Tucker and husband Herman, Felicia Marks, all of Pulaski; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; sister Virginia Holt of Pulaski; brother-in-law Jimmie Lee Brown of Nashville; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends
