Girl Scouts Present AED to RMS Softball Team

Girl Scout Troop 1147 presents an AED to the Richland Middle School Softball team for use at the team’s field should the need arise. Richland Middle School Softball coach Tammy Holt said the need for the AED was realized when Rachel Rich, a player on her team with a congenital heart disease, had an attack a few years ago. When Holt inquired about the situation, school nurse Umeka Bugg put her in contact with Troop 1147 Leader Sunny Mitchell for a project the troop needed to obtain their Silver Award. The troop raised the money to purchase the AED and presented it to Holt and the softball team recently. Holt and the softball team accept the AED from Mitchell with Rachel Rich’s sister Harlee, a member of the RMS Softball team next to Holt. Rachel Rich is now a member of the Richland High School Softball team.   Submitted
