Giles County Fair Begins July 29

Giles County Fair sponsored by the Pulaski Lions Club will be held July 29 through Aug. 3 at the Giles Agri Park with the midway to open July 31. In addition to a new date this year there will be a new carnival and several additions to Volunteer Hall. The theme this year is Day on the Farm.

The focus in Volunteer Hall will be to provide some hands-on activities for young children to learn more about agriculture. The 4-H program is taking the lead in operating a unique concession where they will offer a Fair Float (ice cream in soda) in a commemorative cup along with a couple of other items. Proceeds will support youth exhibit premiums. Exhibits including vegetables, field and forage crops, country hams, honey, crafts, baked goods, canning, woodworking and more will be taken Monday July 29.

New this year, participants who enter exhibits in the various departments can enter to win a prize pack. For adult garden exhibits a prize pack valued at $150 will be given to a lucky winner. The youth garden winner will receive a pizza garden starter kit. To learn more about these and other aspects of the fair go to our web site atgiles.tennessee.edu.
