Five Flown From Crash Scene

Five were injured in a collision between a car and tractor trailer truck yesterday (Tuesday) on Highway 31 South, near the Rose Road intersection, at approximately 3:50 p.m. According to Giles County Fire and Rescue Chief Josh Fralix, the mother and four children were all transported from the scene via one AirEvac and two Vanderbilt LifeFlight helicopters to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for serious injuries. Although the extent of injuries are unknown at this time, Fralix confirmed at least one individual was severely burned after the car caught fire. According to Fralix, the car careened into the ditch on the side of the highway after rear-ending the trailer, causing the wheel base to dislocate from the trailer. The road remained closed for approximately five and-a-half hours. More information will be released as it becomes available.   NATHAN GOMILLION / PULASKI CITIZEN
