Clothe Our Kids of Ardmore and Giles County celebrated its first anniversary in March.

The non-profit opened March 2018 at 26316 Saving Center Drive in Ardmore behind FNB Bank.

The non-profit collects and distributes gently used clothing and shoes, along with new socks and new underwear in sizes newborn to adult. Monetary donations are used to purchase needed clothing items and to meet operational costs, such as utilities, insurance and distribution costs.

The mission of Clothe Our Kids is to work directly through local schools, churches and Department of Children’s Services (DCS) as a resource to provide needy at-risk children with coats, clothing and shoes.

“Since our grand opening in March of 2018, we were able to clothe 263 local children,” said Gabby Blade of Clothe of Kids.

“We would like to extend a special thanks to all of our volunteers and to anyone who donated their time, money or clothes,” Gabby added.

Although the community has been quite generous in donating clothing items, monetary donations are especially needed to help cover operating expenses.

If you would like to make a donation to Clothe Our Kids, monetary donations can be received at FNB Bank in Ardmore or mailed to 8115 Elkton Pike, Prospect, TN 38477.

You can schedule volunteer time by calling Blade at 638-2759 or Shelly Rich at 256-777-1535.

Gently used clothing, shoes and coats, or new socks and new underwear, can be dropped in either of the Clothe Our Kids donation boxes at the Ardmore location or the Giles County Board of Education, 270 Richland Dr., Pulaski.
