Lady Bobcats Score Season-High, Take Down Nolensville
The Giles County High School softball team throttled Nolensville 16-4 to pick up the team’s fourth district win of the year Wednesday in a makeup game due to rain earlier this season.
The Lady Bobcats (13-8-1, 4-4) batted around in the fourth inning and scored nine runs to capture the win by run rule in the fifth. GCHS recorded 12 hits on the day and also capitalized on multiple defensive errors by Nolensville.
Bianca Malone picked up yet another victory in the circle for GCHS, striking out four hitters and allowing four runs, some of which were unearned, in five innings.
At the plate, Ashlyn Kimbrough finished 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Hannah McComiskey and Faith Cross both collected a base hit and scored three runs each. Makenna Birdsong went 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs. Ombreyah Daly and Lexi Barnickle both also drove in two runs each and scored a run to round out the offensive leaders.
GCHS is scheduled to play at Marshall County today (Thursday).
