Pay Raise Urged for Interim Police Chief

Interim Ardmore Police Chief Jimmy Kennedy was recommended for a pay raise by members of the Ardmore, Ala., Town Council and Ardmore Board of Mayor and Aldermen.

Council members acted at the April 8 meeting on a recommendation from Ardmore, Ala., Mayor Gene Shannon to give Kennedy a $1.50 per hour pay raise.

Kennedy has been interim chief since former chief David Whitt retired at the end of 2016.

The Joint Council recommendation will not become official until both government bodies approve the recommendation separately.
