Local FRA Honors Essay Contest Winner
Members of Tennessee Valley Branch 44, Fleet Reserve Association (FRA), honored Jedidiah Jenkins as their 12th grade Americanism Essay Contest winner June 10.
The 2016-17 essay contest was on the theme of “What Memorial Day Means to Me.”
Jenkins, a Giles County High School graduate, was presented a certificate and a check as Branch 44’s 12th grade winner and also a certificate and check as the FRA Southeast Region third place winner for the 12th grade.

Jenkins was also presented a plaque honoring him as a grade winner in the Americanism Essay Contest for the last five years. Two of those years, he was the grade winner at the Southeast Region and went to the national competition, where he was the grade winner nationally.
